Radlett brush aside West Herts

09/06/2012

Radlett claimed a 101-run win at rivals West Herts on Saturday to move up to fifth in the Home Counties Premier Division Two East table.

The hosts won the toss and decided to put Radlett into bat.

Kabir Toor opened with an excellent knock of 89 and was assisted by Fraser Crawford’s 37. Shane Burger maintained his good form with 54 off 66 balls and Tom Jenkins contributed 26 down the order as Radlett reached 259 for seven off their 60 overs.

Ian Gurney was the pick of the Stags’ bowlers as he returned figures of six for 109. Matt Smith picked up the other wicket.

In reply, West Herts faltered with the bat as they were dismissed for 158 in 41.3 overs.

Barry Marshall got them off the mark with 19 but Alastair Lewis and Will Jones could only add six between them. Craig Sanders top-scored with 30 off 29 balls and Gurney was next best with 28.

Most of the damage was done by Toor, who picked up four for 44, while there were two wickets apiece for Robert Crocker and Burger.
