Hemel taste first defeat at Hoddesdon 09/06/2012 Sloppy fielding proved costly for previously unbeaten Hemel Hempstead Town as they fell to a 52-run loss at Hoddesdon.
Hoddesdon opener Rob Walters was the beneficiary of Hemel’s inability to consistently take wickets as he closed on an unbeaten 145, surviving four dropped catches to provide the bulk of the runs for his side.
Steve Reader provided a spirited four for 71 in the Hemel attack but it was not enough to stop the home side’s charge as they closed on 248 for seven.
In reply, Brett Penny racked up an impressive 71 off just 86 balls but with little to speak of in the rest of the order, Hemel were all out for 196. |
